Chatham Hammered by Storm's Waves

B9E6690E-FACF-4DAD-B4CF-AC760D35A8B9.jpgThe Cape Cod Chronicle reports that Chatham’s North Beach Island has been badly beaten-up by the recent storms, when waves of up to 20′ hammered the coast.

According to the article:

Chatham Coastal Resources Director Ted Keon said it appears the surf washed over the beach in several areas, swirling around and under the camps. “It’s starting to get a little sobering, looking at the length of the northern tip without any dune system to speak of,” he said. If the camps had not been on pilings, “it would have been a much different situation.”
